KRISTIAN HÅSKJOLD is an award-winning Danish/Norwegian filmmaker raised on Fyn in Denmark. He is an alumnus of SUPER16, Denmark's prestigious independent film school, he specialized in Directing.

Notably, his miniseries Chemo Brain made its international debut at the Sundance Film Festival in 2020, earning a Special Jury Recognition for Drama at SXSW the same year. The series garnered critical acclaim within Danish media, leading to nominations across numerous Danish awards, including the Danish Academy Awards (Robert Prisen), TVPrisen, Zulu Awards, and Aarhus Series in 2020.

Recently, he directed the second season of Danish critical acclaimed series HOOLIGAN, which by the Danish newspaper Politiken was called “One of the best Danish series right now”. The reviewer even called one of his scenes "One of the most touching scenes, he can remember in a Danish show”. The season won “Best Short Fiction” at TVPrisen 2024 (The National Danish TV award).

Håskjold's short films have been selected to 120+ festivals globally, winning 20 awards. Notably, Forever Now secured the Grand Jury Award for Best Narrative Short at SXSW 2017, while A Worthy Man was honored with the Jury Award for Best European Short Film at the Leuven International Short Film Festival in 2018, later being shortlisted for the European Film Awards 2019. His distinctive storytelling caught the attention of the European Film Promotion’s Future Frames program in 2020 with Crocodile Tears. His graduation project, Young, was a semi-finalist at the Student Academy Awards in 2021.

Beyond the festival circuit, Håskjold's work has been recognized with two Vimeo Staff Pick Premieres, a Vimeo Best of Year nomination, a nod for Adobe’s Nordic Creative Talent Award, and two Oscar Qualifications, amassing over 425,000 plays on Vimeo. In 2023, he was celebrated as an Artist In Focus at the Leuven International Short Film Festival.

Currently, Håskjold is actively developing several film projects.
