PITCH
The animated film Checkered Ninja 3 is the third installment in the series about Anders Matthesen’s popular ninja doll.

Aske’s interest in ninja missions is starting to fade. He’d rather spend time with his friends, and Checkered Ninja feels left out and increasingly eager to find a new mission. This leads to Aske unintentionally clashing with Jessica’s bad-boy boyfriend, Marco, and his gangster friends, who retaliate by setting fire to the garden shed. Suddenly, Aske is caught up in a conflict he never asked for, and Checkered Ninja pushes him to stand up for himself. Matters are further complicated when Aske befriends Emily, the new girl in town—especially since Jessica is still into him... and extremely jealous. Meanwhile, Aske’s stepfather, Jørn, is taking his new fatherly role a bit too seriously for Aske’s taste, and soon Aske feels pressure from all sides.

The Checkered Ninja films, based on Anders Matthesen’s own novel, have each sold over 900,000 cinema tickets, making them some of the most successful Danish films in recent history.
